Beijing. Chinese President Xi Jinping met Thursday with U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in a meeting that addressed several issues between the two countries, such as the flow of synthetic drugs to North America, tensions in Taiwan and with the Philippines due to operations in the South China Sea, as well as the risks of artificial intelligence for the security of nations.
Xi stressed the firm commitment of his country to maintain binational relations stable, healthy and sustainableand called on the United States to consider China and its development in a positive and rational way (…) as an opportunity rather than a challenge; also, do the same to find the right way for the two big countries to get along.

Sullivan said the meeting touched on a number of specific issues, including Russia’s war against Ukraine and tensions in the South China Sea.
