The war in Gaza broke out on October 7, when Hamas fighters attacked southern Israel, killing 1,199 people, mostly civilians, according to an official Israeli toll. In response, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to destroy Hamas and launched an offensive that has already left 40,602 dead in Gaza, according to the territory’s Ministry of Health, which did not specify how many were civilians and how many were combatants.

Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said in X that Israel needs to ensure that the death wish of Meshal (the Hamas leader) and his friends in the leadership of the terrorist organization is fulfilled in the near future.referring to Meshal’s recent statement that Hamas must return to the practice of suicide bombings to fight Israeli forces.
