Buenos Aires., In a turbulent environment, when large mobilizations were announced for this week against the far-right government of Javier Milei, the great surprise that was experienced yesterday was the triumph of the Peronist youth La Cámpora, by heading unitary lists in the Student Centers of important faculties, among them the presidency of the Faculty of Architecture and Design and Urbanism (FADU), the second largest in the country, and of Social Sciences, Exact Sciences and Philosophy and Letters, and counselors in most of the rest.

This displaced Forja, followers of the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR), a discredited party now divided by its association with the right in what was the Cambiemos Coalition (Together for Change) and with the current administration.

Between the 2nd and 6th, elections were held for Student Centers and representatives to the Board of Directors of the 13 faculties of the University of Buenos Aires, the largest in the country, and in the FADU they obtained 54 percent of the votes, displacing the almost eternal Forja and becoming the most voted list in the history of that faculty.

The letter from former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and the responses to President Milei, as well as the announcements of the demonstrations in which trade unions, students, political and social movements, among others, will participate to support retirees, and to definitively reject Milei’s veto of the new retirement law voted by Congress, have created a climate in a population that seemed dormant, but the atmosphere improved with these elections.

The political landscape is beginning to shake up at a time when new increases are being mentioned, both in fuel and tariffs, when it is already impossible to pay and important companies continue to leave the country. Without a doubt, the brutal repression against retirees last Wednesday was like a limit for the president’s government, which is also added to the announcement of increases in all sectors again. Even a national strike is being prepared.

Argentina is bleeding and needs to heal woundsexpressed the archbishop of Buenos Aires, Jorge García Cuerva, in the province of Santiago del Estero, in view of the situation that the country is experiencing, and asked to listen the cry of the sick and the elderly who are alone, who cannot afford their medicines and understand the pain of the tears of migrant brothers and sisters far from their land and their loved ones; may we also listen to so many children who in their sad eyes silently denounce hunger and abuse.

The archbishop of Buenos Aires headed the transfer of the primatial seat of the Argentine Church to that city, by order of Pope Francis, and was accompanied by 40 bishops. Heal us, Lord, from the deafness that prevents us from hearing the silent cry of adolescents and young people enslaved by drugs, victims of drug trafficking, that great business of the merchants of death.he asked.

He also referred to the need to remove “the wax plugs, which popular culture recommends using paper cones to remove. We can also have ideological plugs, which make us intolerant (…) plugs of intellectual arrogance that make us owners of the truth, who have an opinion on all subjects; plugs of the story, because we build our own reality by giving answers to questions that no one asks.”
