Dubai. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said yesterday that his country has not sent hypersonic missiles to Yemen’s Houthi group, a day after the group used one to attack Israel amid the armed conflict it is waging against the Hamas group in Gaza.
The missiles possessed by the Yemenis are the result of their own development and the projectile used in the attack does not exist in Iran.Pezeshkian said in his first press conference since being sworn in as president in July.
This was the response to Al Jazeera news, which cited political experts who pointed to Iran as the supplier of hypersonic missiles to the Houthis, its allies – as they accuse Russia of doing in the war with Ukraine – or at least the technology to develop them.
Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the Yemeni militia’s military operations, claimed responsibility for an offensive against central Israel yesterday, while anti-aircraft defense systems shot down the projectile, whose shrapnel fell in various areas, including a train station in the city of Modiin, near Tel Aviv.
Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar said yesterday that the Palestinian Islamist movement is ready for a long war of attrition against Israel, in a message in which he also congratulated the Houthis. He assured that the groups that have support from Iran, both in Gaza and in Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen, They will break the will of Israel.
Israel is involved in various conflicts in the Middle East, including in Syria, Yemen and Lebanon, which has led to an increase in crises in the region.
