Paris. One of the men accused of raping Gisèle Pelicot in France pleaded guilty yesterday, after admitting that he never obtained his consentand asked for forgiveness from this woman who was chemically subdued by her husband in order to be raped. Before the court in Avignon, in the south of France, Lionel R., 44 years old and one of the 51 men on trial, confirmed that he admitted to having committed rape on December 2, 2018. I never had any intention (to rape her), but since I never obtained Mrs. Pelicot’s consent, I can only state the facts.he declared. Dominique Pelicot admitted during the highly publicized trial that began on the 2nd of last month that he administered tranquilizers to his then wife to put her to sleep, raped her and that dozens of men sexually abused her also between 2011 and 2020. The case has aroused solidarity for the victim.
