At least 170 people died in Nepal after intense downpours that since last Friday have caused flooding in the capital, Kathmandu, and other parts of the Asian country, authorities reported yesterday. The rivers have overflowed, with their consequent lot of damage and loss of human life. The balance of the Ministry of the Interior establishes 170 dead and 42 missing. Some victims took refuge on the roofs of buildings, and others fled with difficulty through muddy waters. It’s scary. I have never seen such destructionMahamad Shabuddin, owner of a motorcycle repair shop, said Saturday. At least 35 of the deceased were aboard three vehicles, and were buried alive by a landslide on a highway in the south of Kathmandu, police spokesman Dan Bahadur Karki told AFP.
