Valencia. Several deaths, floods, traffic cuts, devastated crops and the derailment of an AVE train is the preliminary toll of a DANA (isolated depression at high levels) that hit Valencia, reported the president of the Generalitat of that Spanish region, Carlos Mazón. .

The rains hit much of eastern and southern Spain, where flooding disrupted rail and air transport, in the highest rainfall recorded in the area since 1966.
Torrential rains and thunderstorms yesterday caused a situation exceptional which especially affects the southern half of the peninsula and most of Levante, with a red alert in Valencia and Malaga and a forecast of water fall of between 120 and 180 liters in 12 hours, Cadena Ser reported.
The waters burst into the streets of the town of Letur, in the eastern province of Albacete, dragging cars, according to images broadcast on Spanish television.
