Madrid. The head of the Iranian Nuclear Energy Organization (IAEA), Mohamad Eslami, confirmed yesterday that Tehran began injecting gas into thousands of nuclear centrifuges to begin operations, following the response of the authorities to the resolution of condemnation approved last week by the IAEA board of governors.

We have begun to inject gas into thousands of advanced centrifuges to begin operations, as part of plans for the development of the nuclear programEslami said, before reiterating that the Iranian nuclear program is peaceful and under the supervision of the IAEA.

He noted that Tehran has always shown itself to be in favor of interactions, but will never back down in the face of force, pressure and illegal behavior from other partieswhile once again rejecting the accusations against the Iranian authorities in this regard, the television network Press Tv reported.

The Iranian nuclear program is absolutely transparent and has peaceful purposes. If you want to ignore the goals of the IAEA and your own obligations and put pressure on us unilaterally with excuses and accusations, you will receive an answer.he pointed out.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced on Friday the activation of a substantial number of new advanced centrifuges in response to the resolution, which he called politicized.

He stressed that the decision is framed in Iran’s rights and obligations under the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and reiterated his cooperation with the IAEA regarding technical aspects.”

The resolution was approved with 19 votes in favor, 12 abstentions and three votes against: Russia, China and Burkina Faso. The text requires Iran to provide explanations for its nuclear activities and requests the director general of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, for a comprehensive report, amid pressure on the Islamic Republic to cooperate with the agency.
