Jerusalem. The Israeli army said it intercepted a missile launched from Yemen on Monday morning, hours after its aircraft struck several Houthi targets in the Arabian Peninsula nation.

The IDF Air Defense Array successfully intercepted a surface-to-surface missile that approached Israeli territory from Yemen, using the Arrow-3 missile defense system.the army said in a statement, adding that the device did not cross its territory.

The Israeli military confirmed late Thursday that the airstrikes on the Houthi port city of Hodeida were carried out by US-made F-15 and F-35 aircraft.

The IDF said the offensive, which took place some 1,700 kilometers from Israel, was one of the most complicated and farthest operations of its air force, and claimed to have hit the port because the area is used to deliver Iranian weapons to Yemen.
