Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out new incursions into the Gaza Strip yesterday, killing at least 55 people, Gazan health authorities reported, in a war that has already claimed 39,145 lives.

The strikes destroyed homes in towns east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, forcing thousands of people to head west in search of shelter in a humanitarian but unsafe area, residents said.

The Israeli military said it operated in areas from which fighters fired rockets into Israel and attacked Israeli troops.

The IDF also carried out airstrikes in the center and north of the strip, while Rafah residents reported that the IDF blew up several houses in the west of the city.
