In retaliation for Lebanon’s attacks on the Israeli town of Beit Hillel, the Israeli army attacked the town of Marjaoun yesterday, aggravating tensions, according to analysts.

Fighter jets attacked the Hezbollah terrorist organization’s launcher from which launches were detected from the Marjaoun area in southern Lebanon and other terrorist infrastructure in the areathe Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on its X account, referring to the Al Adeisa area, which was the scene of the exchange of bombings between Tel Aviv and the Lebanese armed group.

The IDF added that Hezbollah launched some 30 rockets at Beit Hillel hours earlier, far exceeding the dozen announced by the Al Manar television channel, which is affiliated with the Lebanese militia-party.

The Israeli army confirmed that the rockets, most of which were intercepted by Israeli air defences, did not cause any casualties.

In the early hours of Monday, the IDF announced that two soldiers were slightly injured by a projectile fired from Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G-7) called on all parties involved in the conflict to avoid actions that could lead to an escalation, said Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

In a video conference chaired by the Italian minister, his G-7 counterparts expressed their “concern about recent developments that could lead to a regional extension of the crisis, starting with Lebanon.

French President Emmanuel Macron and King Abdullah II of Jordan stressed in a telephone conversation the need to avoid a regional military escalation at all costs and They called on all parties to abandon the logic of retaliation.the French presidency announced yesterday.

France, Italy, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Argentina have advised their citizens not to travel to Lebanon or Syria due to the instability.
