Just a few days before the NOS Alive concert at Passeio Marítimo de Algés on July 13, Pearl Jam has caused panic among fans who have already purchased tickets to see the band in Portugal. The group has cancelled the shows scheduled for London and Berlin on June 29 and July 2 and 3, respectively, due to health reasons.

The concerts in Barcelona were also in question, but it seems that the North American band is ready to perform in Portugal. The group led by Eddie Vedder returned to the stage for a show at the Palau Sant Jordi, on July 6.

“Next Saturday they will be here at NOS Alive. They are going to be rocking tonight in Barcelona,” wrote Álvaro Covões, the festival’s director, on social media, sharing a video of the concert. Before performing in Portugal, Pearl Jam will perform again in Barcelona on the 8th and at the Mad Cool festival in Madrid on the 11th of July.

The band had canceled their scheduled shows in England and Germany due to health concerns, but did not provide further details. “We know that many people have spent time, money and emotional energy getting tickets and coming to see us. It is heartbreaking to know that we are letting you down. We also appreciate the many people who work so hard to put these shows on. Please know that we do not make these decisions lightly and that we try our best to never fail. We hope that it will be possible to reschedule this leg of the tour,” they wrote on social media at the time.

Pearl Jam are scheduled to perform in Portugal on July 13th at NOS Alive, and tickets for the show are already sold out. Four years after the release of their last album, “Gigaton”, the group is back with the release of their 12th album, “Dark Matter”, in April.

Eddie Vedder, the vocalist, considers “Dark Matter” is Pearl Jam’s “best album”. It includes 10 songs, produced by Andrew Watt, who has worked with Ozzy Osbourne, Elton John, Iggy Pop, among others.

The band began their career over 30 years ago. With hits such as “Alive”, “Just Breathe” and “Yellow Ledbetter”, they are considered a cult group and have a huge legion of dedicated fans who sell out concerts as soon as each date is announced. With eleven studio albums and hundreds of live concerts, they are considered one of the most successful bands, with over 85 million albums sold worldwide.
