Quito. An attack with weapons and explosives in an inhabited area in the Ecuadorian province of El Oro left two people dead, two injured and material damage, the police reported yesterday. The incident would have been directed at a member of a criminal group and occurred while a state of emergency was in effect. In the afternoon, a vehicle arrived at the sector known as La Barraca, in the town of Puerto Bolívar, from where individuals shot one of the victims, a 67-year-old man. An explosive device was launched after the attack improvised, but high powerwhose shock wave killed another person and left two injured and caused damage to five homes, the public safety report added.
