Canada announced yesterday that it will reduce 21 percent, from 500,000 to 395,000, the quotas for permanent immigration to the country starting next year, a drastic change in policy by Justin Trudeau’s government in search of improving its popularity. Although it is clear that our economy needs new arrivals of migrants, we see the demographic pressures that our country is facing, and we must adapt our policiesdeclared Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration. That nation reached 41 million people, compared to 35 million 10 years ago, an increase that is largely due to an unprecedented wave of foreign arrivals.
