London. Former BBC presenter Huw Edwards, once one of Britain’s most prominent media figures, was given a suspended sentence yesterday for possessing child sexual abuse images on his mobile phone. Edwards, 63, pleaded guilty at Westminster Magistrates Court to three counts of making indecent images of children, stemming from photos he received via WhatsApp from a man convicted of distributing child sexual abuse content. Judge Paul Goldspring gave Edwards a six-month sentence suspended for two years. He will also be placed on the sex offenders list for seven years. His good reputation was ruinedGoldspring pointed out.
