Mirta Acuña de Baravalle, one of the initiators of human rights organizations, died yesterday at the age of 99. She was the mother of Ana María Baravalle, who was 28 years old and five months pregnant when she was kidnapped in August 1976 along with her husband, Julio César Galizzi, and disappeared during the last military dictatorship. “He left without finding Camila or Ernesto, his granddaughter or grandson. ‘My skeleton is tired,’ he told me recently,” recalled left-wing leader and lawyer Myriam Bregman.
