Beirut. The Lebanese Chemists’ Union yesterday denounced the use by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) of bombs with depleted uranium in their attacks against the south of Beirut.
The magnitude of the destruction and the depth of penetration into buildings and terrain indicate the use of depleted uraniumthe experts noted. Due to its high density and weight, this material increases the penetration capacity of armor-piercing projectiles.
These types of internationally banned weapons, particularly in densely populated areas such as the capital, cause widespread destruction, and the dust left behind can cause numerous diseases.they warned.
