Gaza, Palestinian Territories., At least 45 Palestinians died yesterday in a horror massacre perpetrated by the Israeli army in residential areas of the city of Beit Lahiya, in northern Gaza, reported the Ministry of Health of the enclave, while other inhabitants are still trapped under the rubble.

The place was a multi-story apartment complex and was bombed; At the end of the attack, cries of crushed people could be heard beneath the rubble. Survivors tried to recover victims digging with nails and hands because the civil defense teams would not be able to reach the site soon, since the rescuers suffered a military attack hours before, Al Jazeera reported.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) withdrew from the Kamal Adwan hospital complex, located north of the strip, a day after storming it. Enclave Health reported that at least 44 of the hospital’s 70 team members were arrested.

It was later reported that the IDF had freed 14 of them, including the hospital director.

The director of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, described catastrophic the situation in northern Gaza, adding that there is a critical shortage of medical supplies which is depriving Gazans of vital medical care.

Meanwhile, the WAFA news agency reported that an airstrike by the Israeli army on a school located west of Gaza left one dead and several injured. The death toll rose to almost 43,000 dead and more than 100,000 injured in the enclave since the start of the war on October 7, 2023.

A spokeswoman for the United Nations Children’s Agency told Al Jazeera that northern Gaza is already a disaster zone after the three-week ground incursion carried out by Israeli troops. He added that an Israeli bombardment was reported on the southern outskirts of Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold, the Lebanese news agency ANI reported.

On the other hand, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that a paramedic lost his life and five other people were injured in a bombing against a health center in the south of the country. With this death there are now 164 paramedics killed, and more than 275 injured.

Meanwhile, in Syria, Israeli forces launched a wave of airstrikes against military sites in the southern and central regions.

The attacks involved missiles launched from the Golan Heights, Syrian territory occupied by Israel, and Lebanese airspace.

According to Damascus, Syrian air defenses intercepted and shot down several projectiles.
