Washington. US President Joe Biden said yesterday on his X account that Hamas and Israel reached an agreement for a ceasefire, based on the framework he presented on May 31, which was neither confirmed nor denied by either side.
Six weeks ago, I presented a comprehensive framework on how to achieve a cessation of hostilities and the return of hostages to their homes. There is still work to be done and these are complex issues, but today an agreement on that framework was reached by Israel and Hamas. My team is making progress and I am determined to complete this process.the president wrote on social media. The plan proposed by Biden contemplates, in its first stage, a six-week truce that would come into effect immediately after the agreement between both parties is sealed.
