Buenos Aires., The advanced privatization of the government of the far-right Javier Milei and its accentuated political persecution on various fronts is worsened by the possibility that the Federal Court of Criminal Cassation will decide whether to sentence former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to prison in the case of alleged bribes in the public works of National Highways, of which Kirchner was dismissed due to lack of evidence and opened illegally by judges of the so-called Judicial Party.
The far-right libertarian deputy José Luis Espert, very close to Milei, reiterated that he would like drive the last nail into Kirchnerism with the drawer of the former president insiderepeating the threatening phrase of the current president of that nation, which generated national and international indignation, since he recalled the assassination attempt against Fernández de Kirchner in 2022, a case that has not yet been tried.
Espert’s expressions on Radio Miter, a media outlet aligned with the ruling group Grupo Clarín, caused a wave of rejection and the organization of demonstrations in front of the courts next Wednesday, at a time when the now president of the Justicialist Party (Peronist) seeks to unite to his supporters in the midst of what he denounces as political persecution.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Security, led by Patricia Bullrich, was accused of classifying protesters as criminals and terroristswhich has alarmed various sectors. Recently, a retiree was injured during a protest in front of Congress, where protesters demanded decent living conditions in a context of accelerated impoverishment and cuts in social programs.
At the international level, the far-right president expressed his satisfaction with the victory of Republican Donald Trump in the US elections, considering him an ally along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, despite the fact that he has not managed to establish direct contact with him; In addition, he plans to travel to the United States to embrace to the president-elect and conclude investment agreements with the owner of Tesla, Elon Musk, especially in the lithium sector, a resource that is no longer Argentine.
The Casa Rosada administration is applying a true privatization shock and is trying to impose legislation that would allow an indiscriminate increase in political persecution, to impose serious measures that will affect the entire South American territory.
Proof of this is the opposition’s rejection of the privatization of Aerolíneas Argentinas and the Decrees of Necessity and Urgency promoted by the Argentine president despite the fact that they violate the National Constitution, just as the civil-military dictatorships that during years they ruled the country.
The battle against privatizations, including that of the state company Intercargo, with dismissals of union members and workers, has created strong unrest because private air operators have increased tickets, making travel impossible for thousands of citizens.
Despite the president’s threats to close the state airline company if it does not obtain the necessary votes, growing legislative resistance and the fracture of the Radical Civic Union and other opposition blocks have prevented it from achieving its goal.
