Cairo, At least 70 dead and 200 wounded is the preliminary toll from the latest Israeli bombings carried out yesterday against Khan Yunis, in the south of the Gaza Strip, after the army ordered the evacuation of some neighborhoods after detecting that the militants have recently launched attacks from those areas.

Palestinian authorities have put the death toll at 39,000 since the start of the war between Israel and Palestinian groups, which broke out after a Hamas incursion into Israeli territory, which left 1,200 dead and 350 people taken hostage, on October 7.

This is the seventh or eighth time we have been displaced. While we were sleeping in our homes, they started shooting and bombing us from all sides.”Kholoud al-Dadas said, hugging her children. We don’t know where we’re goingshe added. Moments later she collapsed exhausted.

Hamas denounced in a statement the intensification of aggression by the occupation and assured that the Israeli army is bombing civilians in the eastern part of Khan Yunis, with dozens of martyrs and woundedin addition to forcing an increasingly painful displacement of the population in the area.

The Israeli armed forces confirmed military operations in the Khan Yunis area, where their aircraft attacked “dozens of targets.”

Forces of the 98th Division yesterday began a combined operation in Khan Yunis on the ground and underground after receiving intelligence information that pointed to the presence of terrorists and war infrastructure in the area and after attempts to reestablish the terrorist organization Hamas.an Israeli military bulletin noted.

The aircraft launched an offensive on Military warehouses, observation posts, underground facilities and buildings used by Hamas.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said that, on average, a Palestinian child has been killed every two days in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since the war between Israel and Hamas began.

The international organization said that 143 Palestinian children have died since October 7 in the aforementioned war zones, a figure that represents an increase of almost 250 percent compared to the previous nine months, when 41 children from the attacked town were killed and two Israeli children also died in this same context.

In addition, more than 440 Palestinian children were injured by ammunition in the context of Israeli security forces operations and attacks by settlers, causing a grave alarm for the unnecessary and excessive use of force against the most vulnerable.

For years, children living in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have been exposed to horrific violence.warned UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell.

Two more hostages lost their lives

Meanwhile, the Israeli army declared two other hostages held in Gaza dead, while saying it was continuing to investigate their deaths.

Captives Yagev Buchshtab, a 35-year-old sound technician, and Alex Dancyg, a 76-year-old historian, were abducted from their homes in kibbutzim (communes) near the Gaza border during the Hamas attack.
