Ramallah. The Palestinian Authority (PA) yesterday condemned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s presentation of a map showing the reoccupied West Bank as part of Israeli territory and demanded that he comply with international laws and norms.

The image supposes an explicit recognition of colonial crimes and represents a violation of international law, the PA’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs said.

The map also reveals the truth of the colonial and racist agenda of the far-right government that runs that nation.he stressed.

It represents a flagrant challenge to international efforts to stop the war of extermination and displacement and to revive the peace process based on the two-state solution.he said, and accused Israel of commit the most atrocious crimes against the Palestinian people.

The map was presented by Netanyahu during a press conference in Jerusalem in which he defended, among other things, the deployment of Israeli soldiers in the Philadelphia corridor regardless of any possible agreement for a ceasefire or an end to the conflict in the Gaza Strip, something already rejected by Hamas and Egypt.

The spokesman for the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Stéphane Dujarric, commented that the aforementioned map not particularly useful when the Israeli army intensified its operations in these Palestinian territories.

He recalled the UN’s position on the Occupied Palestinian Territories and its support for a two-state solution, with Palestine within the 1967 borders and its capital in East Jerusalem.
