Geneva. Palestinians detained by Israeli authorities in Gaza after the October 7 attacks suffered simulated drowning, sleep deprivation, electric shocks and other torture and ill-treatment, the United Nations Human Rights Office said in a report released yesterday. It said the Israeli prison service had more than 9,400 Palestinians detained by the end of June. detained for security reasonsand some have been held in secret without access to lawyers or their legal rights respected.
