Madrid. Assassins and guilty Dozens of relatives of victims and those affected by the DANA natural disaster on October 29 in Valencia shouted yesterday before the political leaders of the regional government, chaired by the right-wing Popular Party (PP), and the central administration, made up of the left-wing coalition of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE) and Sumar, at the funeral held in the Valencia cathedral.
They expressed their indignation by leaving the premises once the political leaders entered.
The funeral ceremony was organized by the archbishopric of Valencia, so it did not have the character of a state funeral, hence the central government did not confirm its presence until noon, which consisted of an emergency delegation formed by the first vice president , María Jesús Montero, the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, and the Minister of Science and Technology, Diana Morant, who is also of Valencian origin and was mayor of the city of Gandía.
President Pedro Sánchez did not attend, in contrast to Kings Felipe VI and Letizia, in addition to the entire Valencian autonomous government, with its president Carlos Mazón at the head, and political leaders from other regions.
The anger with the authorities is due to the fact that the majority found out through the media that the mass was going to be celebrated and were not officially invited, in addition to the fact that many consider that the most appropriate thing was to wait for the search to end. of the four missing people. But the main reason for the unrest was due to the presence of politicians, whom they accuse of being responsible for the mismanagement of the tragedy and for not having carried out the necessary works to prevent the catastrophe.
