Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said yesterday that there is no doubt that Russia will regain its when appropriate control of the Kursk region, where kyiv launched an unprecedented incursion in August since the start of the war.

On August 6, Ukrainian troops launched their first operation on Russian territory since the start of the war – which has lasted more than two and a half years – and managed to take control of several areas of Kursk. As a result, more than 100,000 civilians have had to be evacuated.

Meanwhile, Moscow dismissed the victory plan Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called it a tactic to keep the West on his side and said it had nothing to do with finding a diplomatic or political solution to end the war.

In addition, during her eighth visit to kyiv, European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen announced that the European Union will grant Ukraine a loan of up to 35 billion euros, secured by frozen Russian assets, to help the country in its war against Moscow.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian government has banned the use of Telegram on official devices of state officials, military personnel and critical trusted workers, in order to prevent Kremlin interventions. The restriction only applies to official devices, not personal phones.

Telegram is widely used in both Ukraine and Russia and has become a key source of information since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
