Russian lieutenant involved in the Ukraine war dies from an explosive

Moscow. Lieutenant General Igor Kirilov, head of the radiological, chemical and biological protection troops of the Russian armed forces, died in an explosion on Tuesday morning near a residential building in the southeast of Moscow, the Russian Investigative Committee announced , in charge of the most important cases in the country.

An explosive device, placed on a scooter parked near the entrance of a residential building, was activated on December 17 at dawn on Riazanski Avenue, in Moscowthe committee stated in a statement.

The Committee’s Investigation Department has opened a criminal case for the murder of two soldiers.

An emergency services source told the Russian news agency Sputnik that the explosive device had a power equivalent to 200 grams of trilite, according to preliminary information.

The instructors, he added, are studying the recordings of the surveillance cameras in the area.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirilov, born on July 13, 1970, acquired a lot of media visibility in recent years for repeatedly accusing Ukraine and the United States of preparing attacks with chemical and biological weapons against Russia.
