We are destroying the world The Argentine pontiff said yesterday in a message broadcast during the closing ceremony of a forum for peace of the Sant’Egidio community, held in Paris. “I make their cry and that of the many people affected by the war my own and I address it to the political leaders: stop the war!”, the Argentine pontiff said in his text, read during a ceremony in front of the Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris. We are already destroying the world. Let’s stop it while we still have time!he urged. We must pray for peace in view of the risk that the numerous conflicts, instead of ceasing, will dangerously widenhe insisted. The message was read during the closing ceremony of the 38th international meeting for peace, held by Sant’Egidio, a Catholic community that brought together dozens of religious dignitaries, experts, politicians and artists.
