Colorado Springs, Colo., About 100 people sought emergency medical care over the weekend and 10 people were sent to area hospitals because of extreme heat at an air show in Colorado, authorities said yesterday. Most of the patients were treated Saturday by emergency personnel at Pikes Peak, the fire department said in a statement. Fire Chief Randy Royal said the Quick actions Organizers and emergency personnel prevented serious injuries at the fair held at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, about 80 miles south of Denver. The National Weather Service had issued a heat advisory for temperatures expected to reach 90 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (33.8 to 37.7 degrees Celsius) in the area Saturday afternoon.
