Bogota. The guerrilla of the National Liberation Army (ELN) yesterday began a new indefinite armed strike in the northwest region of Colombia, restricting the mobility of the population.
We decree an indefinite armed strike starting at zero hours in the San Juan, Sipí and Cajón rivers. We hope that the population complies with these restrictions to avoid any type of accident.they explained in a statement.
The ELN warned about the measure two days before, claiming that it is fighting in the territory with the Clan del Golfo, a drug trafficking and paramilitary cartel that operates in the area, so they announced that to protect the physical integrity of the population, mobility was paralyzed in the San Juan, Sipi and Cajón rivers in the department of Chocó.
