The plot of “The Union” centers on two young people who fall in love in high school and end up becoming super secret agents.
Starring Mark Wahlberg as Mike and Halle Berry as Roxanne, the plot revolves around a stolen list containing the identities of all secret agents in the United States. The premiere on the Netflix streaming platform is scheduled for August 16.
“Knowing that Mike is the right man for the job, Roxanne recruits him for a dangerous intelligence mission in Europe. Their return to the world of spies is marked by high-speed car chases that leave sparks flying along the way,” reads the synopsis.
In the production directed by Julian Farino, the protagonists join forces to find the lost object, and embark on an odyssey with lots of acrobatics, speed and hilarious moments.
The reestablishment of the relationship between the two becomes the center of the story. The fact that they were lovers who lost contact does not make the plot dramatic — quite the opposite happens.
The cast of “The Union” also includes Jessica De Gouw, Mike Colter, Jackie Earle Haley, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Alice Lee and JK Simmons.
