Milwaukee. Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz escaped unharmed from a car accident yesterday when several SUVs in his motorcade crashed as he was heading from the airport to a campaign event in Milwaukee. Several members of his team were injured.

President Joe Biden spoke with Walz from the Air Force One and confirmed that he was fine. Vice President Kamala Harris, who was on a campaign trip in Detroit when she received the news, did the same.

The accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. A member of Walz’s team, who was in a vehicle carrying the journalists, was injured.

The cause of the crash was not disclosed, which occurred after Walz — who is also governor of Minnesota — and his wife, Gwen, were met at the airport by Democratic Rep. Gwen Moore of Wisconsin.
