New York. The General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) yesterday called on Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories and advocated the creation of a Palestinian state, convening a world conference in June to promote a two-state solution.

In a non-binding resolution approved by 157 votes in favor, eight against – including the United States and Israel – and seven abstentions, the Assembly expressed its unwavering support, in accordance with international law, for the two-state solution: Israel and Palestineit was reported at the close of this edition.
