United Nations. More than 2,000 people have been displaced from their homes in the Haitian capital in just two days due to clashes between armed groups, the United Nations (UN) reported yesterday. The organization recorded these figures between September 11 and 13 in the Cité Soleil and Delmas neighborhoods, after violent incidents between gangs that further aggravated the situation of civilians in the metropolitan area. According to UN estimates, more than 170,000 people are displaced in Port-au-Prince alone and are living in shelters or temporary settlements. The UN and allies continue to deliver humanitarian aid, food and water despite low funding and the expansion of violence, Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary General António Guterres, told reporters yesterday.

The Humanitarian Response Plan for the Caribbean country has only 39 percent of the $674 million requested by the UN. We continue to call for greater support for the humanitarian response to help the Haitian people.the spokesman urged in this regard.
