Washington. The United States will not impose new limits on the use of weapons it provides to Ukraine if North Korea enters the fight, the Pentagon warned yesterday, while the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) assured, without presenting evidence, that North Korean military units deployed in the Russian Kursk region.
The president of the United States, Joe Biden, stated that the situation is very dangerous. The Pentagon estimated that 10,000 North Korean troops were stationed in eastern Russia for training, down from an estimate of 3,000 troops last Wednesday.
Some of those troops have already moved closer to Ukraine, and we are increasingly concerned that Russia intends to use them in combat or to support operations against Ukrainian forces in the Russian Kursk Oblast, near the Ukrainian border.said Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh.
Growing military cooperation between Russia and North Korea is a threat to both Indo-Pacific security and Euro-Atlantic securitydeclared NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte after meeting with a South Korean delegation to discuss North Korean deployments.
Initially, the Kremlin described fake news reports of a North Korean deployment, but on Thursday President Vladimir Putin did not deny that there were Pyongyang troops in Russia and asserted that it was Moscow’s business how to implement the association treaty with North Korea.
