Caracas. The Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, denounced that the economic sanctions imposed by the United States constitute a massive violation of human rights and directly affect the population.

During an interview in local media, the Venezuelan authority warned that this policy does not seek to sanction a government, but rather to punish an entire people.

Saab stressed that unilateral coercive measures are nothing more than an instrument to generate collective unrest: This has even been recognized by the UN (United Nations Organization)..

Furthermore, he emphasized that these restrictions are part of a strategy that includes pressure mechanisms, such as hybrid warfare and destabilization campaigns.

The prosecutor explained that these actions are implemented with the objective of controlling, for their own benefit, the looting of the country’s strategic resources, including oil, gas and coltan (a mineral necessary for the manufacture of electronic devices).

Saab described these maneuvers as hybrid warfare, combining conventional and unconventional weapons to delegitimize the Venezuelan State and promote international sanctions that further strangle the lives of Venezuelans.
