Caracas. Judges from the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) of Venezuela visited the National Electoral Council (CNE) yesterday to begin validating the physical records with those received at the national tally center when the presidential elections were held on July 28.

The group of senior judicial officials was headed by the president of the Venezuelan TSJ, Caryslia Rodríguez, and the vice presidents Fanny Márquez and Inocencio Figueroa, and was joined by international experts and observers who are participating in the examination of all electoral material from July 28.

The magistrates and international observers, supported by CNE technicians and specialists, began validating the physical records with the digital ones and verified that the results were correct.

On July 28, the CNE suffered a cyber attack that affected its system and prevented the timely transmission of results. The attack was later reported to have come from abroad (Macedonia) and the consequences of which are also part of the investigation.

Yesterday’s process began once the 100% transcription of the minutes of the vote counts requested by the Electoral Chamber of the TSJ was completed, in connection with the appeal filed by President Nicolás Maduro to clarify the alleged fraud complaint by the far right, which has not provided evidence.

Once this stage of expertise is completed, The final judgment on this electoral dispute will be issuedsaid Judge Caryslia Rodríguez.
