Caracas. The Venezuelan government has rejected a report on human rights violations in the country presented to the United Nations (UN), which it described as vulgar and pamphleteeringdrafted by an illegitimate, politicized and ideologized mission,” he said in a document.

Meanwhile, the Venezuelan prosecutor’s office denounced that the report of the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Venezuela presented biased information and uncontestable; furthermore, it was drawn up on a basis of prejudices that do not allow verification.

The Foreign Ministry, for its part, stated that the mission was created by the “cartel of failed governments of the Lima Group – an organization created in 2017 to seek a solution to the Venezuelan crisis – with the sole objective of complying with Washington’s orders.” It also criticized the UN’s inaction in the face of Venezuela’s complaints about assassination attempts against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and threats against other government officials.

“The monstrosity presented by the illegitimate mission seeks to turn the victims of fascism and the Venezuelan extremist right into victimizers, ignoring the actions of the so-called ‘commanditos del terror’, who murdered 27 Venezuelans and caused damage to health and security facilities,” he denounced. The report presented this week concluded that the Maduro government has created a climate of fear in the country, after having intensified dramatically the persecution of dissent.

Later, the Executive reported that it held a friendly and fraternal conversation telephone with the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, to whom he detailed destabilization attempts and conspiracies promoted from US territory and supported by Latin American and European far-right extremism.

For his part, Guterres shared that in the conversation he conveyed to Maduro his Concern over reports of post-election violence and human rights violationsfollowing his declared victory in the elections of July 28.

The UN representative called on resolve any political dispute peacefully, through genuine and inclusive dialoguesaid a statement from his spokesman’s office.

Maduro met with the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Venezuela, Gianluca Rampolla, whom he introduced evidence about a conspiracy hatched by the United States government to incite violence and promote a coup d’état.

Meanwhile, Colombian Deputy Foreign Minister Jorge Rojas said that Petro’s government will wait until January 10 to finally decide its position on the election results in Venezuela.
