In a thousand days of war, more than a million casualties between Moscow and kyiv

As yesterday marked a thousand days since Russia invaded Ukraine in order to demilitarize it and denazify heron February 24, 2022, these are some results of the conflict:

The French magazine The grand continentfrom the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Paris, estimates that the war has claimed more than a million victims on both sides. Russia has had some 700,000 fatalities, reports the New York Timeswithout giving information about Ukrainian losses.

Russia occupies 20 percent of Ukraine’s territory, says President Volodymir Zelensky, who despite having received great military support from the West has not achieved the inclusion of his country in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, a mechanism in which they were Sweden and Finland accepted.

In September 2022, Moscow annexed Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, which declared themselves independent from kyiv, which was not recognized by the international community.

In recent weeks, Russian troops have made progress in their offensive.
