KOB Cook-Off Contest Returns for 2026 With Cash Prizes and Cooking Challenges

KOB has announced the official rules for its 2026 Cook-Off Contest, outlining entry requirements, competition procedures, and prize opportunities for amateur cooks. Organizers encourage interested participants to review the guidelines before submitting their entries.

KOB-TV has released the official rules for its 2026 Cook-Off Contest. These rules outline eligibility requirements, competition procedures, and prize details for participants across New Mexico. The contest will once again provide amateur home cooks with an opportunity to showcase their culinary skills. This will take place in a televised competition.

According to the official rules, the contest is open to eligible amateur cooks who reside within New Mexico or the KOB broadcast area. Participants must submit an entry that includes a video demonstrating their cooking abilities. In addition, the entry should show their meal preparation techniques. Contest organizers will review submissions. Then, they will select contestants based on creativity, personality, and cooking presentation.

According to KOB, selected contestants will compete in a bracket-style cooking event. Contestants will provide their own food. KOB will tape, edit, and produce the event as a television show. As contestants prepare their food, a panel of judges will rate them on both the taste and appearance of their dish.

In addition to an overall champion, the competition will have multiple rounds of elimination before reaching the final champion. At each level, each advancing contestant will face different cooking challenges.

The rules state that each grand prize package consists of both cash prizes and other prizes donated by sponsoring companies for the contest. Contest officials will award a runner-up prize at the conclusion of the final stage of the contest. Contest officials reiterated that prize winners must comply with all eligibility requirements. Additionally, they must submit all required documentation to receive their prize.

The Cook-Off Contest also promotes the importance of showcasing New Mexico’s regional cuisine and the amazing capabilities of home cooks, among other benefits. Therefore, it is essential to have a thorough understanding of the rules of participation in the contest prior to submitting an entry.

Contest officials emphasized that all submissions must comply with contest guidelines and content requirements. They also noted that the competition remains subject to applicable laws, regulations, and eligibility standards established by KOB-TV. Additional details regarding entry deadlines, judging procedures, and competition schedules are available through the official contest rules.
