A lawyer’s consultation can cost you a lot, that is why the First Judicial District Court in Santa De is partnering with New Mexico Legal Aid to host a legal fair to help people with family and civil law matters.
The help will be available on Friday on a first-come, first-served basis for households at or below 200% of the federal poverty line. They will help people with divorce, custody, landlord-tenant disputes, and wills concerns.
The assistance will depend on the volunteer attorneys available and their areas of expertise.
In case of an attendee speaks Spanish, a bilingual staff will approach them.
The organizers set the legal fair from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. at the Judge Steve Herrera Judicial Complex.
This will be such a great help for those who need the guidance of the law but cannot due to financial constraints. And to our future attorneys, may this become your drive to serve the public even more.
May this kind of services be more accessible to more people because it is our right to learn, know, and apply what the law dictates in situations that put us on edge.
