Hot and dry weather continues to set on the state all through Monday, with heat advisories in effect for Chaves and Eddy counties.
Most areas will stay dry overnight with light breezes in northern New Mexico.
While on Sunday, dry and hot weather will dominate across the state. Albuquerque will reach the upper 90s, and temperatures could exceed 100 degrees in eastern and southeastern New Mexico.
Heat warnings are in-effect from noon to 8 P.M. Sunday for Chaves and Eddy counties.
With this kind of heat, heat illnesses may rise that is why it is highly encouraged to drink plenty of fluids. While other recommend staying in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.
Meanwhile on Monday, temperature will stay mainly dry and hot with highs in the upper 90s in Albuquerque and over 100 degrees in southeast New Mexico.
However, there are small chance for an afternoon shower or storm and could begin Tuesday or Wednesday and continue through later next week for parts of central and eastern New Mexico.
