The UMB Financial Corporation Charitable Foundation donated $400,000 to the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum to support its Outdoor Balloon Adventure project. The donation, announced October 9 during the 54th Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, covers naming rights for the project’s Balloon Tower, now under construction on the museum’s back lawn overlooking Balloon Fiesta Park.

The Outdoor Balloon Adventure will offer an interactive ballooning experience featuring an elevated walkway, learning stations, a partially inflated hot-air balloon visitors can enter, a stratospheric gas balloon capsule, and a performance area with seating and play zones. The event marked the first construction phase and sought support for phase two.

The announcement came on October 9 at an event held at the museum as part of the 54th Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Community partners, local officials, and Balloon Museum Foundation board members attended the event to mark the first phase of construction. They also rallied support for the project’s second phase.

The $400,000 contribution covers the naming rights for the project’s Balloon Tower, a key feature of the outdoor exhibition. Construction is underway on the tower on the museum’s back lawn, which overlooks Balloon Fiesta Park. The structure will serve as a welcoming landmark for visitors to the space.
